Amplify Your Impact In Your Community
Join a group of local Kiva lenders to strengthen your impact and meet borrowers face-to-face to learn about their businesses, stories, and build true community through place-based crowdfunding.
CIC’s Kiva Collective is a community-powered initiative where people come together through Kiva’s online platform and in-person events in Southern Arizona. The goal of the Kiva Collective is to uplift local entrepreneurs, share knowledge, and invest in each other’s success – creating a thriving community and local economy in the process.
Through pop-up events, Kiva lenders, Kiva borrowers, and supportive community members can meet up and create real connections – building the fabric of our local community through relationship building.
Whether you’re new to Kiva or already passionate about supporting small businesses, you’re invited to join us. Your contributions become part of a shared effort – with a minimum loan amount of just $25. The Kiva Collective’s impact is tracked in real time, showing how individual actions add up to meaningful change across the community.
When you participate, you’re contributing to a growing wave of collective support that helps local dreams thrive.

Kiva: An Innovative Way To Support the Local Economy through Community
Kiva uses an inclusive, community-driven approach to the loan underwriting process to determine a borrower’s creditworthiness. Instead of relying on exclusionary standards or charging high interest rates, Kiva mitigates risk through “social underwriting”, evaluating a borrower’s character and the strength of their community ecosystem.
Through Kiva’s platform, community members can participate on both sides of the capital exchange. Individuals can apply to become borrowers, accessing affordable capital to support their business goals, while others can become lenders, contributing funds to help finance those loans. This model strengthens local ecosystems by allowing communities to directly invest and support one another.
Kiva loans have an 96% repayment rate, showing that this innovative approach expands necessary capital access while maintaining financial stability.
Together, we are strengthening our local economy with each loan funded.
